What Are Psycards?

Psycards are basically an alternative deck of cards to Tarot and are used for divination and self development. Some have even said that when learning divination through cartomancy (the at of using cards), that Psycards are alot easier to used compared to many Tarot decks as the imagery is far simpler.

Psycards are a system of 40 cards based on famous Psychologist, Carl Jung’s psychotherapy and the belief that symbols have the power to bridge the conscious and the unconscious.

Where Did Psycards Come from?

The Psycards System was created in the 1980’s by Nick Hobson and Maggie Kneen. It was much influenced by Carl Gustav Jung, the great psychotherapist, by fairy stories and the arts of the Celts. Within Psycards are 40 cards. The images mirror the human heart. The Body, Home, Mother, and Father evoke symbols that are meaningful for all people round the world. Unconscious promptings remind an individual what aspects of the psyche should develop. There are 5 pointer cards (Inquirer, Yes, No, Now Never) helps guide a person to make an important decision.
Psycards are for divination and self development. There are three books written about Psycards.

Can You Use Psycards With Tarot Cards?

The short answer is Yes, there are a number of professional Tarot readers who combine tarot with Psycards for readings and there are also others who use Psycards for specific parts of readings instead of using the tarot, for example if the tarot reading highlights the client will have to make a choice then a psycard deck may be used to give a mini reading within the general reading to highlight the what may happen is a certain choice is made.
This can be done without having to reuse and reshuffle any of the tarot cards or detract from that specific reading.

Can You "Read For Yourself?

Yes, Psycards are actually really helpful when trying to decide which path to take. Many readers find the imagery useful when using cartomancy for making decisions.
